Our Team
Kristin Daubenmeyer - President, Board Member, RHYi, Trauma Sensitive certified, co-owner of wild peace yoga studio
Always intrigued by all things “wellness”, Kristin began attending a yoga studio regularly in 2018. Contrary to what she had been told about yoga, she found that she met with Jesus every time she was on her mat. In 2019, she discovered Holy Yoga and fell in love with the concept of bringing people to feet of Jesus through the modality of YOGA! She completed her Holy Yoga teacher training in 2020 and in 2021 she joined the HYD team. Kristin is passionate about meeting people right where they are with their yoga journey and encouraging people to treat their bodies with love and gentleness. When Kristin isn’t teaching yoga, you may find her with an iced coffee in hand, walking around Target with her two adorable daughters and husband.
Nakia reeves - VICE-PRESIDENT, BOARD MEMBER, R-HYI, e-RYT 200, Certified Practitioner of Sound Therapies, co-owner of Wild Peace Yoga Studio
Nakia started practicing yoga in 2015 as a means to enhance her work out regimen. She quickly found the practice to be more than just physical and began to use the practice as a way to connect with God through Holy Spirit on a deeper level. After receiving her RYT-200 in 2017, she connected with Holy Yoga Detroit and started down her path as Holy Yoga certified instructor in 2018. Being able to bring the Word of God to life through breath, movement and even song is what she enjoys about the Holy Yoga practice. As she often says, "Take what you need and leave what you don't at the altar.”
MYREYA AMEZCUA - FOUNDER, E-RYT 200, M-HYI
Myreya founded Holy Yoga Detroit as a non-profit entity in 2014. It was a commitment she made to God, to proclaim his name and goodness, to use her talents and skills for his glory, so that others could experience the strengthening and abiding peace he had given her. Since then, God has assembled a diverse team of teachers and Board of Directors dedicated to this mission. She is humbled to have served the community and lead the Holy Yoga Detroit team for 7 years and now, serving behind the scenes she is delighted to watch it flourish.
